Born in Arkansas, grew up in Texas, Dad plays fiddle in a cajun band, so I learned music young. I was in choir since i could talk and started playing violin when I was 12. I moved to Duarte in High School started playing guitar and started my first band, Dweeb and Norberto (I was Norberto). We played at coffee shops and on the street in Old Town Pasadena. At USC I met Sean and started Arlo. We signed with Sub Pop, made a couple records and broke up. We had some fun though. Got to go to Japan with the Foo Fighters and to Europe and stuff, toured with some good bands like The Shins and The Walkmen. In the meantime I had met the Ozma boys and toured with them and became a fan. I was filling in for Daniel for a couple weeks on the Rooney tour this summer when me and Jose talked about jamming a bit. Unbeknownst to us, Ozma was soon to break up and Arlo shortly after.
